David J. Burns MBE KCStG

David J. Burns MBE KCStG, was invested in November 2014 into The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire with the rank of Member by the late Queen Elizabeth II, for his contribution to British Business, Charity and Community in Dubai. In May 2022 David was invested into the International Knightly and Valiant order of St George with the rank of Knight Commander for his contribution to the National council of the Royal Society of St George.

About David

David has been a long standing Ambassador and Board Member of BACK 2 BUSINESS. He has had an outstanding career, founded and developed companies in numerous industries including commercial catering and Hotel Management, commercial property development, project management, logistics, publishing, pharmaceuticals and distribution, HR Consultancy and health and fitness.

Previously David was the Chairman and CEO of the largest internationally recognised British Business group in the world and the largest business group in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. As the Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, he was responsible for the operation and management business group, which boasted over 2,500 members.

He oversaw all the business activities and liaised and coordinated with the BBG stakeholders. He was instrumental in initiating the BBG Dubai strategy and vision document in addition to the rules of engagement for the group. Whilst he was Chairman of the BBG committee he had responsibilities for 21 Focus and Special interest groups across many industry sectors. During this period, David also developed marketing and communication strategy for a leading international firm of auditors and accountants.

David sat on the Dubai Chamber’s round table for business groups and was on the steering committee for the British Centres for Business. He maintained a high level of visibility within the British business community and liaised with various government departments including the UKTI to support the UAE and UK business initiatives.

David is also a globally experienced Management Consultant whose passions lie in advising and assisting regional entities, family offices, startup commercial projects, and turnaround operations.

He has a deep understanding of the work ethics presented by many diverse cultures, religions, nationalities, and regions and maintains a keen interest in philanthropy.
